I'm Hiring! - Talent Acquisition Manager

We are expanding our human resources leadership team at All Children's Hospital and I need to find a Talent Acquisition Manager who's ready to live, work, and play in Tampa Bay.

Us
Yes, it really does look like this here.
We are one of the most progressive healthcare human resources teams in the country. (Yes, I said it.)

We've built social tools into our work, and we're not afraid to try new things. The patients we serve are some of the most fragile souls on the planet, and we consider it a privilege to work here.

One more important thing for you to know...in April of 2011 we were acquired by Johns Hopkins and are proud to be part of the world's number one health care organization.

You
You are an experienced talent acquisition leader who has incorporated social tools and an aggressive (but not mean) style in to your work.

You see the world as one big opportunity to collaborate with your colleagues vs. chasing personal glory. (The glory comes when you lead well!) You are HRIS savvy, and will ensure our recruitment processes run smoothly and efficiently.

You will lead a recruitment team that is responsible for meeting the unique and challenging demands of a free-standing specialty children's hospital. We think it big here, and you will need to as well!

Oh yes, and you have a personality that jells with our team of professionals across the organization. If not, none of this is going to work.

Next Steps
If you're interested, please do me a favor before you apply: do your homework...learn about All Children's Hospital...and be prepared to ask me lots of questions. Otherwise, I'll know you were only interested in our sunsets.

I'd love to hear from you.

No Excuses.

When A Team Jells

It's an interesting phenomenon...teams coming together...getting traction...thinking bigger than they did previously. I'm part of a team of human resources executives that are jelling right now. We've worked together for the last couple of years, although we're separated by more than five states. Sometimes distance without a commitment to new forms of communication make it difficult to stay connected in today's world.

But we're jelling now...and it's good.

Hello...My Name Is

We didn't start out this way. We've been adding members to our team as new organizations are acquired and become part of the larger enterprise. Team dynamics are funny sometimes. Every one's intentions have been positive, but there is no substitute for time, building trust, and shifting the focus from transactional to strategic thinking.

You can't rush progress...but you sure can nurture it along.

Take the Lead vs. Take the Assignment

There was a time when we all took assignments as part of our evolving group. We each felt the obligatory guilty tug to take a piece of the whole and do our fair share. Or at least it seemed that way to me.

We don't take assignments anymore. Our focus has shifted, and so has our commitment to each other. Now we take the lead on projects and come back to the team with ideas, recommendations and controversial solutions.

We have healthy conflict now, and still like each other afterwards. In fact, we now acknowledge that our meetings are good.

When was the last time you left a meeting and said it was good?

How About You

The team is producing high quality work now, and we have so much more we know we can accomplish. It's an exciting time; and, even after long meetings you can feel the difference in the room.

You can feel it.

I hope you can help create that same culture where you work. For me, it's a whole new reason to think it bigger...and make a difference.

I'd love to hear from you.

No Excuses.

Hello Blog Talk Radio!

This is a big week for me. No, this is a REALLY big week for me. Why? For some reason I've gotten it into my head that hosting a blog talk radio show about the amazing organization I work for would be a good idea.

Actually, it's a great idea!

Brand Ambassador or Big Talker
I was reading my twitter bio recently and it dawned on me that being a brand ambassador should mean a lot more than just saying that you are one. It should mean you actively promote your organization in a powerful and intentional way.

Representing the brand shouldn't just be something that happens between 9:00 and 5:00 and then one disappears back into another life that is completely disconnected from the workplace.

Brand ambassadors don't disconnect. They live, and breathe and push the brand whenever they can.

Wednesday March 5th is Show Time
As we continue to evolve the methods for reaching more of our candidates, patients, families and colleagues, it has become clear that we need to push ourselves once more. So this Wednesday at 12:30 eastern time, we are officially kicking off the All Children's Hospital Blog Talk Radio Show.

Yes, I'm a nervous wreck...yes, I'm so fired up I wish the show was starting right now...and yes, it's going to be a wild new adventure for us! Isn't that what life is all about anyway?

Join Us...and Be Kind
Many of you who read this blog are not necessarily the "target audience" for our show (I'm learning new words!); but I cannot express how grateful I am for all of you...knowing that as this new venture kicks off, you will support me...and my organization.

How About You
Have you labeled yourself as a brand ambassador? If so, what are you doing to live up to that label? I'd love to hear what you're doing! Have a great week everyone!

I'd love to hear from you.

No Excuses.

I'm Hiring...Can You Recruit?

I'm in one of those bittersweet moments as a leader. One of my team members is transitioning back into a clinical role to provide care for some of our most fragile patients. I'm thrilled for her, and more importantly, for our patients who are going to benefit from her expertise as a Pediatric Nurse.

What that means however, is that I need to hire a social media savvy recruiter to join my team. Yes, a social media savvy recruiter...not someone who "doesn't get" twitter and believes sharing information on facebook will "get you in trouble." If you feel that way, please save us both the time and look for an old school personnel gig.

Check out the new HR page to learn more about my organization, the amazing Tampa Bay area, and how we've completely integrated social into Human Resources.

I'd love to hire an HR pro who has their SPHR or PHR, understands hospital-based healthcare, and isn't afraid to take risks. Going for it in your HR practice means much more to me than telling me you've placed 1,000 ads in the Sunday paper. We don't do the Sunday paper here.

We work in Florida, so recognizing Spanish (let alone speaking it) would be a plus; but is not required.

At my organization we save children's lives everyday who otherwise wouldn't live.  Tell me what other company is doing something more important?  That's right, there isn't one.

If you feel you are a good fit to join our team, check out the position, and get in touch with Clare to learn more.

I'd love to hear from you.

No Excuses.
